Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled. - Titus 2:3-5
Our apostolate provides a framework within the parish for the fulfillment of this scripture.
Working under the supervision of the parish priest and / or family ministry co-ordinator, midwives tend to pregnant and laboring women and newborns in the parish, teach fertility awareness, provide practical natural health advice to families, celebrate the life cycle with women of the parish, assist in the vocations discernment process for women, guide them towards the sacraments in the spiritual life, and provide a space for young women to gain wisdom from older women in practical arts like homemaking, needlecraft, and home education. In addition, we train younger women who desire to become midwives themselves.
Our goal is to place at least one midwife in every parish. Please contact us if you see a need for this ministry in your Catholic community.
